8th Grade
The program follows the same school calendar as all other schools in the Iowa City Community School District. 8th grade students are required to take year-long courses in Language Arts, Math, American Studies, science, and PE. They are also required to take 12 week (one trimester) classes in personal development and Applied Technology. 8th grade students also have opportunities to take either French or Spanish and electives in art and business.
Classes meet synchronously in the mornings, while the afternoons are reserved for support and extended learning opportunities.
